Coded closure
Various designations are possible: coded locking, coded single lock, keyed alike lock
A coded locking is a unique protected coding for single or keyed alike locking cylinders.
It can be used for all occurring cylinders, such as half, double, round cylinders, padlocks, mailbox locks, etc., individually or in combination.
This lock is protected by a security card and may not be used in locking systems.
According to VdS, only coded locks may be used for burglar alarm systems and activation devices. They must be operated independently of any existing locking systems with a separate key.
It should be noted that duplicate security cards are not usually issued for coded locks.
If the security card is lost, only a new cylinder can be purchased.
