The reversible key is technically difficult to copy. The keys are not coded by drilling, but by a special milling process that conceals the position of the coding on the key. The key is made of nickel silver and is highly break-proof, has excellent sliding properties and minimum wear. New design of the locking elements allow the key to slide even more easily into the key channel.

DORMAKABA penta owes its security to the 22 simultaneously usable pin positions in up to 85 positions as well as the unique arrangement of the locking elements to the key grooves. With its 5 rows of pins, DORMAKABA penta offers a wide range of options for different key hierarchies with a high security standard. However, high-quality materials such as low-wear chrome-nickel steel for the pins and nickel silver for the key are also decisive. In addition, the selective use of mechatronics increases copy protection.

Permutation capacity
5 radially arranged rows of pins with up to 22 pairs of locking elements in 85 possible positions result in over 867 trillion (8.6714) possible closures. This makes DORMAKABA penta ideally suited for DORMAKABA keylink.

Modular system construction
DORMAKABA reversible key systems are built in a modular system that allows quick and easy conversion of cylinders to other lengths and types. The concept of modular interchangeable inserts allows them to be easily inserted into other cylinder designs. Rapid conversion of a cylinder once delivered and subsequent adaptation to changing requirements in the building increase variability and flexibility and ensure the sustainability of the locking system.
