WILKA Carat S3 knob cylinder
The Carat S3 system is the new sinusoidal reversible key profile.
SINUS - that is the name of the new system family from WILKA. The new keyways fulfil all expectations that can be posed to a cylinder of a complex keying system.
Patent protection until 2036
Basic length:
- from 30/30 mm
- measured from the middle of cam
- extension 5 mm per side
- Ordering information: the knob is always located on the inside of the cylinder.
Technical characteristics:
- 6 pin locking elements, class 80
- up to 12 profile control pins in two additional levels
- standard drilling protection (1 body pin and 1 core pin made of hardened steel)
- 1 stylus pin made of hardened steel for drilling protection
- special pins for picking resistance
- 1 self-locking pin in the body
- highest degree of copy protection due to protector pins on key and in cylinder core
- made in Germany according to DIN 18252/DIN EN 1303

How to measure the cylinder length correctly?
Cylinder finishes:
- standard finish: brass matt nickel plated
- optional: brass polished, brass matt brushed
- the cylinder knob is delivered in the selected cylinder finish
- for individual design requirements
- if desired, homogeneous appearance of door cylinder and fitting
If a different cylinder finish, different from the standard finish, is ordered, extended production times may occur.
brass matt nickel plated
brass polished
brass matt brushed
Drilling protection IX (ABH IX):
- for profile cylinders on endangered doors in reversible key systems
- all safety locking pin pairs made of hardened special steel (nickel plated)
- each core 2 stylus pins made of hardened special steel
- core with 2 hardened, nickel plated steel pins for increased protection against pulling and drilling
- body with 2 hardened, nickel plated steel pins for increased body drilling protection
- on one side at the outside of the cylinder
- not combinable with the option: seawater resistant version
Drilling protection X (ABH X):
- for profile cylinders on endangered doors in reversible key systems
- all safety locking pin pairs made of hardened special steel (nickel plated)
- each core 2 stylus pins made of hardened special steel
- core with 2 solid carbide pins for highest pulling and drilling protection
- body with 2 solid carbide pins for highest body drilling protection
- on one side at the outside of the cylinder
- not combinable with the option: seawater resistant version
Pulling protection: steel insert as tear-off protection (tear-off clip)
- steel insert integrated into the body as body breakaway protection
- not combinable with the option: seawater resistant version
Seawater resistance:
- seawater-resistant version or for damp rooms (e.g. bathrooms, sauna, cold storage rooms...)
- locking cam and fixing screw made of brass
- knob cylinder with brass knob
- all pin locking elements made of brass (nickel plated)
- not combinable with the option: increased drilling protection (ABH IX / X) or pulling protection
Freewheel (on request):
Freewheel cylinders are those profile cylinders that have a freely rotating cam (locking cam).
The cam can be moved 360° freely when no key is inserted.
When the key is inserted, the spring-loaded clutch engages in the cam. The cylinder can then be closed in the conventional way with the key.
- Usually only necessary for special panic or automatic locks. If in doubt, please check with the door manufacturer.
- restrictions possible in combination with other special equipment
